Bisexual Prejudice

We are currently working on a project examining prejudice towards bisexual people. Existing research indicates that both gay/lesbian and heterosexual people hold bisexual prejudice. However, it seems likely that the sources of their prejudice differ. The goal of this line of work is to examine whether there are different correlates of bisexual prejudice depending on the sexual orientation of the perceiver.

Ideological (Dis)Similarity in Impression Formation

Another project examines how people form different impressions of others based on whether their political ideology is similar or dissimilar. We are particularly interested in what types of information people attend to about the other person depending on their (dis)similarity. This project considers whether people are more attuned to non-ideological differences between themselves and an ideologically dissimliar person but focus more on similarities between themselves and an ideologically similar person.
